2011 Hurricane Exercise

0900-1200 hours

STARC is participating in the 2011 Sheriff's Hurricane Exercise. Volunteers are needed at all 4 District offices, Sheriff's Operation Center, Falkenberg & Orient Road jails. We need 1 or 2 volunteers per location.

Primary communications will be on the 70cm machine. Back up communications will use the 2 meter machine.

Click on the Post for a boiler plate communications. Ad Lib possible communications scenarios which you would expect during an actual hurricane. Try to keep gaps in radio traffic to no more than 10 minutes. You help is needed expanding upon them so we do not have too much time with no radio traffic. Use both UHF and VHF repeaters and simplex. 2011 we will be adding D-STAR into the communications tool box.
